I was a bit disheartened by the top choices of the judges. Concept, artistic merit nor innovating design seemed to factor into the judging.

Here’s two that I think were tops:

Team RMCAD “Red wears the wolf” Team members include Sheila Orr, Arlexis Gallegos, Chris Khronsfeldt, and Kala Warman.

Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design had at least 6 pieces that I could count. The college asked art professors to have students in class make pieces around assigned parameters. Just found out that creators of this piece, Red Wears the Wolf are students of Amber Cobb who she asked to make a wearable sculpture. “They had 3 choices: A Remix, The Grotesque, or Architectural influence. This piece was a twist on Little Red Riding Hood. Little Red Riding Hood didn’t need a hero she killed the wolf herself!” I’d like to give credit to the artists if anyone has some names. Send them on.

Thanks to RMCAD for offering up some non-hoochy momma/ poppa or derivative pieces of fashion!

Designed by Michelle Lieser and team “Paper Beats Rock”. The model is Michelle’s 14-year-old sister, Jessica.

That is some serious use of ric rac!

Did you go? What were your faves?

  1. Hey there! I’m actually one of the artist’s for “Red Wears the Wolf” and I can tell you that our team members were Sheila Oro, Arlexis Gallegos, Chris Khronsfeldt, and me Kala Warman.

  2. The second fashion you selected from RMCAD was designed by Michelle Lieser and team “Paper Beats Rock”. The model is Michelle’s 14-year-old sister, Jessica. Michelle and Jessica took first place last year for best student entry with their wedding dress from team “Something Blue”.
