Demiurge Sculpture Fabrication Residency
Check out the video (below) of Amber Cobb while artist-in-residence at Demiurge a sculpture fabrication company in Denver. Cobb made this concrete mattress piece “As I Adapt” that is part of the group exhibition, Not Exactly at Redline Denver. From detail to material and curatorial concept- rumor is, and I concur, that this is the best sculpture on exhibit in Denver right now.
From the call for entry-
“Demiurge is looking for motivated and skilled emerging artists to participate in our residency program. Prospective artists should possess a degree in fine art or design, and be an active member of the Denver arts community. Artists should possess a developed body of work and the desire to add to it through fabrication or implementation of processes which are beyond the artist’s abilities. All proposals should be for specific shows, exhibitions, or commissions and should have a space in the show or competition secured.
The residency will include access to shop space, design services, technical expertise, in-process media and documentation, vendor contacts, and other technical elements dependent on project. Demiurge will also provide input, information, and feedback to artists regarding the private gallery and public art process as appropriate.”
