Theresa_Anderson_CV (click link) CONTACT: theresandersonart at gmail.com Theresa Anderson’s interdisciplinary work is best described as a form of aggressive cuddling, covering, or a type of softening. Creating sets of work for installation, performance, or rituals that are documented by degraded objects this work comes out of a remembering of things we once knew. Overarching themes include collection and description of relationships between energy, body, and object that question the intersection, tensions and conflicts of new scientific theory on mass, length and scale, philosophies embodied within Object Oriented Ontology, kinds of religious practice, and her own definition of the gurlesque. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Theresa Anderson is alum of artist residencies at Redline Denver, PlatteForum, and Vermont Studio Center where she received fellowship funding for her sculpture. Anderson exhibits nationally and internationally at such venues as the 2013 and 2015 Biennial of the Americas, Neurotitan Berlin, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver Art Museum, Soo Visual Art Center Minneapolis, Pirate Contemporary Art, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, and Gray Contemporary Houston where she is represented.
